If you open the inside handle a little to far the handle goes past the stop and then you can not openThe door. We had someone get lock inside our RV because this happened. (Safety issue)Is there anything we can do to keep this from happening in the future or is the handle defective? We received it on Jan 19th and our return window closed on February 19th. We are not happy with this product.
The lock looks Good works very smoth flawless so far. Nice keys but it's not as heavy duty as southco lock and lock cylinders that came on rv was remote lock I disabled when new.dont trust master codes or keys.i sold rvs before the cylinders don't seem to be as secure looks like slide clip that holds the lock cylinder in place baggage lock door would have. Where my old lock had metal and screw holding I'm not shure it I might reinstall old lock back on. I only gave 3stars because I can see the clip holding cylinder on handle lock not the deadbolt lock and thinking about putting my old lock back on .to give higher stars I would have to test the actual security of the lock breaking into lock screw driver is all you need to twist out lock
I bought this as a replacement for a used camper I purchased. The price seemed good, especially compared to the fancier digital keypad models. The old lock looked almost identical to this new model, so I felt it would be a good fit. And it did fit. Eventually. But it took a lot of finagling to reach that point. I have replaced locks on real doors many times, and never had this much difficulty. Basically it's a two person job, when it really shouldn't be. The screws wouldn't line up, or they would slip. Then the handle latch comes undone if every screw isn't tightly in place, but you don't realize that at first.I really don't like that the the door handle has the key# on it, and my key has the matching # written on it! Seems very unsafe to advertise on the outside of my door handle which model # key will open my door.Overall, this will work for now when I'm in a pinch. For now I'll be staying in well lit state parks, where I feel moderately safe to begin with. But I won't use this lock with it's model# written on it if I decide to use the camper more frequently or to be off on my own.

This is the same product you would get from a rv dealer, but at 1/3 of the cost they want for it, My buddy had his break on his camper and paid the local dealer 36 dollars for this Plastic part, I bout it here for under 10 dollars and it is exactly the same, Yes they are all cheap plastic, but I might as well get it on here cheaper than paying the dealer prices and it only took me 10 minutes to install,, Quick hint when installing use some gorilla glue on the screw ends and in the orginal holes it will help hold it better than just the screws
The trick to longevity of this latch is once installed NEVER slam the solid door closed onto the screen door. Always latch the screen door to the solid door FIRST and then close both as a unit. With this method the latch assembly will last a long time.
Looks a whole lot like the original. Paying less than 10 bucks vs the 25 dollar lippert latch, i don't see how it is much different from the original quality. I was able to use the existing screws on the striker and the lever holder on the outer door, but I had to drill new holes for the lever itself. No big deal. You'll want to drill new holes in the screen door and use the new screws as they need to be countersunk into the latch mechanism for clearance purposes. The supplied screws were a bit smaller than the original, but there is a third hole in the new latch to offset this difference. I was baffled for a bit trying to get the door to close and not engage the screen latch so it wouldn't be a tug of war when I opened the outside door. SILICONE SPRAY is your friend. It would not work properly until I sprayed the striker that is on the outside door as the plastic is not slick enough to engage the new screen door latch on the outer door when you close it with the screen door already closed. You have to adjust the outer door hook to insure the lever on the screen door is pushed down enough to clear the screen door latch to the door frame to avoid the tug of war. Now it works fine. I am going to keep a small silicone spray can in the camper from now one. Works on the door hinges too.

Bought one, when received, was impressed with finish and smoothness of operation, immediately ordered the second one for my two door travel trailer. When second arrived noticed keys were identical on both locks. Key blanks are non-standard. GOOD THING, BAD THING! ONE KEY fits ALL. ALl they ship anyway, but how many people are going to have this model/brand lock. Also for the non-standard blank, you do get 4 keys per lock. So loosing one key is not an issue. Started installation, first door went fine until trying to close door, new striker plate was heavier duty than OEM. Good Thing Bad Thing. Required reforming the plate to allow more clearance (ballpeen hammer on vise anvil). Note: Second door was not a problem. Overall a better quality product than OEM.Measured both OEM lock dimensions with Micrometer, there was significant variations. Two New locks were identical within +- .002 inch in all dimensions. The problem was door frame variance.Extra Keys a real plus, lock body and striker plate may require customization of door/lock to fit and close properly. I attribute that to RV manufacturer's sloppiness on production line and poor QC. Just get it to the customer at the minimum cost to the manufacturer.I give 5 Stars. Will follow up in a year if there are issues.
We needed to replace a door handle and lock on our camper, and randomly picked this one (out of the many options available). It has been great!!First: it arrived quickly, always a plus!Second: it was very simple to install. Minimal effort and no “handyman knowledge” needed.Third: we’ve been traveling all summer, 12+ weeks now, so this thing has seen DAILY use for 12 weeks. Locked, unlocked, opened/closed by ourselves and the children. It has held up GREAT to the “wear and tear”.I’d highly recommend, and would purchase again if we ever needed to replace our other door handle.
There were no instructions but it was very easy to install. It fit our 2005 Keystone Sprinter door perfectly. A word to the wise, I thought at first the latch wasn't working because the inside handle wouldn't open after I installed it. I had to undo everything and get the handle to catch the metal part inside and then I screwed everything back in again. It works great now!

Good fit replacement for Viking popup camper from early 2000s. Had to cut the spring to size with a wire cutter, and nip the bolts to the right length/size, but not a concern for me. You can reuse the original keyed tumbler if you like, and the original bolts. I lost the original spring so I can’t comment on that.
While this lock was easy enough to install, the locking mechanism (as many previous reviews stated) just doesn’t do what it is meant to do. There is a lot of wiggling the key to either lock or unlock and when you are standing in the rain, fighting with the lock trying to get back into your pop-up, is not my idea of a good time.
Screws are junk and too long as I was tightening them to the door they snapped in half before they was even close to being tight onto my door

This is the third time I have had to replace this lock. The part shown below is the part that breaks. When it breaks it locks me out of the Motorhome. The lock lasts about 2 years before it breaks. They claim to have redesigned the lock three times but are still using the same weak pot metal part shown below that breaks. This would be an excellent lock if they would just replace the weak pot metal part shown below with a steal one. Guess they are making a lot of money selling replacements. Can not buy the part without buying a whole new lock. This is the part that fits my Motorhome and is only made by Tri Mark. Wish some company would make a good one that uses steal for that part so it will not break. Have read hundreds of reports of others having the same problem. If you open and close the door enough that part will break leaving you locked out.
at first loved this lock, seamed well built and solid. after less than a year of light use, the latch bolt broke. had to be disassembled from the inside to exit the vehicle. same broken part other reviewers reference in there posts. contacted Trimark to be told no parts available for repair. Paid over $100 for this lock. Waiting for reply from Amazon regarding its replacement, As Trimark will not warranty there product directly. failure of this kind is completely unacceptable as it could lead to a dangerous situation. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT UPDATE! REPLACEMENT FAILED AFTER 5 MONTHS. SAME FLAWED PART. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND SHOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE
First of all, let me say this is a newer model of the 060-0650 lock which it replaced; they did good! The new lock is heavier and has an interior handle that makes closing the door a LOT easier! Delivery was very fast, shipping materials offered full protection, etc. One thing: Be sure to dig all the way to the bottom of the shipping box as there are multiple pieces in that bubble wrap! I almost missed the new mounting screws and the strike plate (which you will need).I had never installed one of these before so I thought I would share some tips I discovered in the process in case they will help someone else out a bit.1. You will more than likely need a Torx socket for removing the old lock as that's what all the fasteners on mine were. At first glance it looked like a Phillips but closer inspection showed otherwise. Luckily, I had the Torx tools handy and all went well.2. There is a sticker on the new lock telling you not to remove the striker pins on the locking side as they are fixed in place at the factory by law. Trouble is, the old one won't come out of the hole and the new one won't go in the hole without removing them. The "fixed" part turned out to be some Loctite, so it wasn't a problem to get them removed. Just be sure to reinstall them firmly after you get the lock into the door opening. Other than this issue, the lock went into the existing opening without a problem.3. After installing the new lock, I thought I would just keep the original striker plate. I lined it up and eyeballed it and it looked the same - NOT! You can barely see it, but the notches for the locking pins in the new strike are ever so slightly larger and the old strike simply would not work. Normally this wouldn't even have come up but the reason I had decided to use the old strike was because it was installed UNDER the metal flashing strip down the door jamb. I removed the two screws holding the strike plate to the frame (they also anchor through the flashing strip) but it still could not be removed. I finally had to go into the motorhome and remove the plastic closure next to the door jamb. This is done by popping off the plastic screw caps and removing the screws. Once I had enough out to get the bottom of the strip loose and pulled out, I had to pry the metal flashing away from the door frame enough to finally work the strike plate out. Installing the new one was much easier as I knew what had to be done.Once the new strike plate was in the lock closed and functioned perfectly - couldn't be happier with it. One other thing: you DO NOT want to drop this thing on your foot when installing it. This new lock is a bear and really has some weight to it, so be sure to hang on to it at all times.Good luck - hope this helps someone else out.

I never do reviews but felt like this needed to be done. I bought this door lock because the key to my old one was getting bent. Installation went ok with the exception of the cheap screws. Locking the door from the inside was perfect. Locking and unlocking the door from outside was another story. I was constantly having trouble getting the key into the lock. I figured it was just new and once I used it more it would sort itself out. Boy was I wrong. I get home tonight and I can’t get the key into the lock. Tried for 5 minutes to get the key into the door. I ended up giving up and using my trusty bent key to open the rear door of my RV. Plan on uninstalling tomorrow and putting my old lock back on. Even with a bent key I trust it more than this waste of money.
This lock set works like new but only time will tell if it doesn't eventually have dead bolt problems like the original and other aftermarket brands I read reviews about. When installing, care must be given to not over-tighten the four mounting screws. They are not shouldered screws like the original lock had so it is easy to damage the soft door material. (The shoulder screws in the original lock allowed them to be tightened without excessively bringing the two sides of the lock together to the point where they started damaging the soft core material of the door.) Reviews stated that two different keys were needed for the dead bolt and the lock itself. I was pleased to see that the four keys that came with my lock all worked both locks, making it easier for me to use.
I installed this handle on my brand new trailer door so i could close it from the inside since it only came with the big bar latch system on it and we couldn't keep the door closed while we were inside the trailer. While it was intimidating cutting into my new door, installation went much better than I anticipated since I had never done something like this before. I recommend creating a template, as I did, before hand so you are sure placement is correct before you start cutting holes in your door but I imagine if you're replacing a broken latch this will be an easy swap. Keys stick a little going into the locks but they function perfectly once you get them in.

The old lock was acting finicky and did not want to risk being locked out of the trailer. This lockset is a perfect replacement for the original on our Casita and the installation only took about 15 minutes using the included hardware, and that including removing the caulking around the original lockset. It feels solid and comes with 4 keys. I would not hesitate to get this lockset again.
I bought my trailer used and as such never has keys for the door latch. Saw this and figured I would give it a try. It is a lot heavier than the one I removed. Seems to be made from thicker, higher quality material. I was replacing an existing latch. Which was an absolute breeze to do. Flawless install. Love being able to lock my trailer now.
I ordered this latch after loosing my keys It arrived fast and is a perfect match, I am very impressed with the qualityOf coerce then i found my keys so I am keeping this for a back up.

Update 1/15/19: Found out that by holding the 1 number key down, the loud beeping noise can be silenced - yay! 2nd, found out that by holding the lock button down, the lock will lock. We were putting the full code in every time. So in short, this is a great addition to our camper. Wish the little tips were documented with the lock - found it out by calling RVLock's help line. As a final - their help line was courteous and very helpful. It fits perfectly. Nice quality. I'm overall ok/happy. Improvement ideas/considerations: 1) We can't lock the camper w/o entering the full code. 2) The beep noise this thing puts out will scare away anything from the campsite - and will wake neighbor campers - maybe good? 3) Locking mechanism is only for one of the locks - meaning the "dead bolt" one. I guess that is ok... But you have to use the key to lock both. I know a window is a quick break entry - so not a big deal over all... 1 FOB, for $239, eh - that also stinks...So I gave this a 4 star - and still worth getting despite my yuks about it... Who wants to keep up with keys when camping?! 🙂
This is a very convenient thing to have. The keypad started to wear out after about a year so they really need to work on that. We just left it on the fifth wheel we traded in and I would get another one if they were more durable.
Easy installation and did not require any cutting to install. My first review was in 2015 August. It is now Feb 2017 and the red knob that is used to lock the door has broken off. This may sound like a long time but this is for an RV that only gets used 2 to 3 weeks out of the years. The part is not readily available and now I am waiting on the company to respond with a parts list so I can purchase the replacement part since the warranty has expired.

All in all it's OK. Seems to work fine, but a few notes: The body (the two halves that bolt together on each side of the door) of my factory lock were metal, with fine thread bolts the held the two halves together. Being that this is billed as an upgrade I wasn't expecting the two halves to be made from plastic with simple screws that hold it together by screwing into the plastic mold on the outer half. I would have expected a more robust structure for such an expensive item. Also, I found the keys more flimsy than my OEM lock. I'm leaving it on for now, but I just view it as a convenience feature upgrade rather than a true security upgrade. It's not like I'm camping in sketchy places or leaving my trailer for long periods in a unsecured location, but your mileage may vary.
The lock was easy to install and works perfectly. Something to note is that the remote and key pad only work the deadbolt. The handle lock can only be locked/unlocked with the inside lever or outside key. I love the lock and don't regret buying it, just thought because the remote had two sets of buttons it worked both locks.
Item arrived with the manual lock broken off. I attempted to make a return but it was closed with a note of “resolved technical issue”. No one has contacted me and I am still out my money.

Rv Door Latch – The Buyer’s Guide & FAQ:

1. Does it have the features you require?

Before you buy Rv Door Latch, make sure again that it has all of the features listed in your requirements list! If some options are missing, it is much better to search for an alternative.

We always suggest that our editors create a list of significant features before adding a product to the list and rank it based on those attributes, the quality of the product and the brand warranty!

At the same time if you find a Rv Door Latch that has all you need, maybe in that case you shouldn’t mind paying a little more. That is why it’s important to write a list that contains the features you’re looking for, decide your budget and specifications (if any).

2. Read product reviews

A simple way to obtain the best product is to look at reviews of that product. Buying guides and reviews can help you learn a lot about the product that you’re planning to buy. If you would like important and relevant information regarding a Rv Door Latch, read user reviews based on real experiences with a particular product. They’ll help you decide on your purchase.

3. Budget and Price Match

Chances are you won’t be able to purchase the best Rv Door Latch with a very low budget. That is why it’s important to write down all the important features, specifications, and price range. Once you’ve done that, start looking for products that either equal or close to your budget.

Try to follow your budget, but bear in mind that during your search you may see a version that’s a bit better and has an additional feature with a very small difference in price. Consider these advantages. If it’s worthwhile, you should probably increase your budget.

About Promotions and Discounts

When comparing prices on merchandise, your goal is to buy the best product at the best price. While some shoppers will willingly spend their cash on discounts and low-priced items, others will be more cautious of those”too good to be true” offers and discounts. The best way to save your money is to compare quality and prices of items at different online stores.

4. Always read product descriptions carefully

Not reading the item description before buying is a serious mistake. The problem with many online shoppers today is they make most of their buying decisions based on the product image displayed. They don’t take the time to browse the complete product description. To avoid disappointment with your purchase, always check all of the information about an item before adding it to your cart. Don’t be fooled by photoshop-edited images that can distort the actual appearance of the product.

5. Warranty and Brand

Most of the experts we consulted told us to constantly buy Rv Door Latch, from a reputable brand. They also asked us to write in our buyer’s guide that purchasing Rv Door Latch from unknown brands or by untrustworthy companies is almost never worth the savings.

After all, Rv Door Latch from an unknown brand can be cheap but extremely low quality and difficult to fix.

Another advantage of buying Rv Door Latch from a respectable brand is the guarantee. Most Rv Door Latch from reputable brands come with a great warranty. Cheap products have a warranty also, but it can be very tricky to claim it. So buy models from reputable brands with a fantastic warranty.
