After getting an estimate from a local RV dealer to have a slide out awning installed on my Jayco travel trailer, I decided to do the install myself. I viewed a number of you tube videos (most helpful was the video posted on the etrailer.com web site) and ordered the Solera awning from Amazon. The order was fulfilled by RV and Auto Parts. They contacted me prior to shipment to arrange delivery, they were very professional. The freight company contacted me to arrange delivery, as their tractor trailer could not travel in my residential neighborhood - no outlet. I met the driver at a local business and transported the undamaged shipping tube home. The awing WAS shipped with the awning rail. I purchased a roll of Dicor butyl tape to seal all hardware attachments. I was able to install the end brackets and awning rail by myself, (about 30 minutes) they literally "stuck" to the side of the trailer and slide out using the butyl tape, I used a cordless drill with the proper bit attachment, to quickly and easily drive the included screws. Following the included instructions, I had a buddy of mine climb on the roof of the RV and guide the corded end of the fabric into the awning rail while I held the "tube" while standing on a ladder. We slid the assembly the length of the awning rail, secured the brackets, pulled the pins, ran the room in and out a couple of times, (another 20 minutes) then took time out for an adult beverage. I am very pleased with the Lippert Solera Awning. It shipped "complete", and is the same awning that would have been installed on my RV had I ordered my RV with a factory installed awning option. At the end of the day, I saved a bundle doing it myself, it was not difficult, and will save me from having to clean the debris from the top of my slide out after every camping trip.
Easy install , my wife and I did it in about 1 hour , everything you need is included except the sealant
Bought this for my Sprinter Travel Trailer. I noticed that some reviews said it did not come with the awning rail. Mine arrived by truck, well before the anticipated delivery date and very well packed in heavy round cardboard tubes. When I unpacked it, I found it contained everything I needed for installation except the butyl tape, which I was not expecting anyway. It came with the awning rails, all hardware, and screws for the complete installation. Easy to follow directions were also included. VERY PLEASED with this purchase. Oh, BTW, just for comparison, I checked the price against what my local RV supply dealer could give me and when I told him what they were selling for on Amazon, he told me there was no way he could touch the price and told me to just order them on Amazon.

The Slideout Cover Fabric came exactly as described, on time, and well made. I can already see that it is of higher quality than what we replaced. Watch the youtube video before you start and it will be a snap. It took my wife and I just under an hour for the whole thing. Very happy and would purchase from ShadePro again. Check out the before and after pictures.
I was a little worried to do this project myself. But it was so easy! 2 ladders and 2 people and it was very simple! The seller should modify there store to allow the client to choose the color vs trying to message them. It took me almost more time to figure out how to message them then it did to install the slide topper. It has been a week, so we will see how the durability of these new tops is.
After looking at many options for replacing the tired slideout cover fabric on my Minnie Winnie I was happy to find ShadePro on Amazon. The fabric is heavy-duty and seemed as thick or thicker than the original equipment. The hemmed edges were well done and were easy to slide into the channels on my RV. The price and shipping were quite reasonable (actually the best price I could find, by far). Shipping was speedy. I did encounter a problem with the way the fabric had been packaged that they addressed quickly and to my complete satisfaction.

Replacing the slide out topper on a Winnebago Adventurer, I found that the large bead on the replacement topper was barely over half the size large bead on the old awning topper. When I attempted to install this new topper, the bead slipped out of the mounting track at several places.
Installed the new slide topper this afternoon. Fairly easy to install. My wife helped hold and feed from one end while I pulled from the other. Pretty decent price. Mine was 12 ft long, easy to cut to correct length.
One of the most intimidating things you can do on your rv and this was the easy. The fabric is exactly the same material that comes on the motorhome from the factory. Looks good.

These “tubes” are very difficult to install. One must open the tube wide enough to slip it over the awning roll. In the process one’s fingers are pinched between the awning and the edge of the extremely stiff tube material. As the first end is installed, the finger must move along the edge of the tube so the remainder will slip over the awning.Amazon's photo shows how the pinching occurs.Removing the tubes is much easier, but installation is a task I wish to do no more than once a year.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Installation can be tricky, it's best to have a multi-position ladder set up A-Frame style so you can easily walk with the installing pipe...or try installing from the roof, but that gets to be even trickier.I couldn't extend my awning/canopy with the covers installed (yes, the clips were removed). I grab my ladder, remove the covers and realized the PVC has been rubbing on the fabric, wearing it thin in some spots and "chalking" other areas. To add insult to injury the covers have been storing water over the winter months.I'm not impressed with this product given the $150 price tag. It did NOT perform as advertised and actually caused wear to the awning fabric.I would like to return this item, but currently I am having issues connecting with the seller. Buyer beware!UPDATED REVIEW: Seller contacted me and accepted my return and refunded my money.
Just got our awning replaced six months ago and decided to buy these to try and keep it looking new for as long as possible so I can't comment on how they work over the long haul at this time. You definitely want to put them on when the weather is warm. The pieces are fairly rigid and you need the warm weather to make them a little more pliable thus making it easier to spread them apart and get them over the awning. I put them on after cleaning the canopy and making sure it was completely dry before rolling it back up and installing them. Was surprised when we opened up the awning a week ago in Florida that there was water in the awning. Can't for the life of me figure out it got underneath these covers. Anyhow, you do need a ladder to get them on and off (you could do it from the roof but I don't like working from this angle). Overall very happy with them at this point. It did say they came with clips but there were none in the package I got. I just wrapped a bunji cord around the front and back sections as suggested to secure them when traveling. Looks to be a good product that will help protect and add years to the life of your awning.

Awesome awning!!Two small negative comments first:1) It appeared (and I may have misunderstood) that the awning was 6.5' wide on the car and extended 8.2' away from the car. It is actually the opposite, which I ended up liking better to provide more width while sitting up against the car. Sits on the car a little funky but works well.2) The mounting hardware is a little weird in the way you have to mount it to my car. I could not find a way to mount it to my cross bars that gave me confidence that it wouldn't move. I am in the process of creating a new quick release mount that I will be much more confident in.All that being said, the thing sets up great and looks great. I am in love with it so far! Seems to be good quality parts at a great price. I highly recommend this product!!
Easy installation. All hardware needed to install on the factory roof rack of my FJ Cruiser was included. Haven't had the chance to use it in the field yet but overall quality seems ok. At $160 including shipping, it is much more affordable than the ARB equivalent.
This is one of the cheaper (cheapest?) awnings you can get. The setup is a bit of a PITA if there is only one person. 2 people = 2 minute setup, max. 1 person = 5 minute setup, depending on the wind (don't do it if windy in any way!).I personally really like the fabric they used - it has a nice feel to it, and blocks 95% of the sun.The legs could certainly be a bit thicker.Do NOT let this be put up when there is any chance of wind and you have not tied it down - the entire thing will rise-and-fall with any gusts, pounding down onto the ground. The cover appears to be okay, but time will tell.It came with maybe some mounts, maybe not. I was making my own anyways, so was not worried about it. The bolts slide into the rear tracks, and are slightly difficult to get into the tracks. However, be patient and just move the vinyl cover over as much as possible - the bolts can fit.I used 3 sets of brackets, and I would presume it is very securely attached.Overall, well worth the price, compared to some of the others that cost 2-3x as much.

So your slide covers are brittle broke and rolled into the housing. My Seneca has a 24 foot wall slide. Where can I get something this long. NOWHERE. how much for a new one oh maybe in the neighborhood of 500$ or more! Some one might cut you a custom length one and ship it for 10 times the gas to drive across the country and get it your self. Thus the Solera in a box. 50 feet of DIY bliss. is it hard to install NOPE.Mine is a carefree SOK and there are plenty of youtubes on how to do it.What I learned is all slide outs use this width dimension even if its longer or shorter coming out it will not exceed the width you need. this is truly universal. As far as durability I dont know and really dont care as there is enough in the box to do this maybe twice. Heavier material double stitch, custom cut to fit, whatever the market is telling you to buy more expensive fabric don't, once it starts billowing and tearing down the cords it doesn't matter how much you spent on the fancy fabric.Another tip is: If your awning was cut by a amish guy on crack as all rvs are made like crap. pay attention to your slide topper overhang if it isnt longer then your slide out walls your gonna have a super expensive leak in your slideout box. Run this fabric as long as the tube will allow giving maybe 1/2-3/4 inch play on each end this will ensure the water runs off the side of the fabric and not down your slideout walls rotting them out.The simple fact it comes in a 50ft roll if you have long slides is enough to pull the trigger on this fabric. This is a reasonably priced product for a seemingly difficult task of renewing your slide out awnings. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
What a deal, 50 feet of awning material in a convenient roller box that is easy to use. The description doesn't tell you its 47 inches wide. Find a scrap piece of thin plywood and stick it under where your cutting. Use a utility knife to cut it. I used a framing square pushed against the cording on the edge to get a straight cut. My awnings had the material held on the roller using 1 1/2 inches of the cording sticking out on each end so I cut it 3 inches to long then trimmed the 3 inches off the awning leaving the cord long and pulled it back 1 1/2 inches. Took about 30 minutes per awning with enough material to do my trailer 3-4 times. Seems to be quality material heavier than OEM.
I have three slide outs on my class A motorhome. I have replaced 1 of the 3 roofs of the slides outs, and it was the biggest slide out. So The rest should be easier. the larger cord goes to the RV and the smaller cord goes to the roller. I'm going to redo mine this week for two reasons. REASON #1: I didn't account for the slack in the extra material in the number of turns of the roller (my original awning/roof tore off with a very strong wind storm - it was brittle from the sun and unwound the spring) So I hand tensioned the roller. I could have used two or three more turns to remove the last bit of slack. I was trying to be cautions to not overwind the spring. REASON #2: There are two textures to the new slide topper, I put the more "waffled: side up, and realized after I had it on completely that the seem edges from the cords were on the top, so I want to redo this and put the smoother side up, which will put thew seam edges down. The material seems durable, and frankly the whole project for the one took me about 3-hours. I did have to remove my rain gutter ends off the motor home to slide in the new topper, but I found them on Amazon for less than $25 for all 4 new ones. There is one set screw in the old awning cord that was a real bear to get out because of rust. I had to use an impact screwdriver with some liquid wrench to undo it, but once I got that screw out everything moved out super easy.

in the questions, it stated all of the hardware is included and NOTHING else is needed to install.. I call BS it was shipped without any brackets to mount with to the slide. Now I have to wait for the brackets to ship and pay another shipping fee.. If you say that all is included, we as consumers expect that to be the case. Not a happy camper
This slide cover arrived in packaging that was damaged to the point where someone along the delivery line had taped the end after stuffing the end of the tube with plastic wrapping. I took pictures of the package before, during and after I opened it to be able to show any defects. FORTUNATELY, the product itself was NOT damaged. I had it installed by an RV maintenance shop just last Thursday. The only problem is that this one is white and all the other four covers are black. However, you hardly notice the color. It works great and the price was right!!!

Rv Slide Out Awning – The Buyer’s Guide & FAQ:

1. Does it have the features you need?

Before you buy Rv Slide Out Awning, make sure again that it has all of the features listed in your requirements list! If some options are missing, it’s better to look for an alternative.

We always suggest that our editors make a list of important attributes before adding a product to the list and rank it based on these features, the quality of the product and the brand warranty!

At the same time if you find a Rv Slide Out Awning that has all you need, maybe in that case you should not mind paying a bit more. That’s why it’s important to write a list that includes the features you’re looking for, determine your budget and specifications (if any).

2. Read product reviews

A simple way to obtain the best product is to look at reviews of the product. Buying guides and reviews can help you learn a lot about the product that you’re planning to buy. If you would like important and relevant information about a Rv Slide Out Awning, read user reviews based on actual experiences with a specific product. They will help you decide on your purchase.

3. Budget and Price Match

Odds are you won’t have the ability to purchase the best Rv Slide Out Awning using a low budget. That is why it’s important to write down all of the important features, specifications, and budget. Once you’ve done that, start looking for products that either equal or close to your budget.

Try to follow your budget, but remember that during your search you will see a model that’s a bit better and has an extra feature with a very small difference in price. Consider these advantages. If it’s worth it, you should probably raise your budget.

About Promotions and Discounts

When comparing prices on merchandise, your goal is to buy the best product at the best price. Although some shoppers will willingly spend their money on discounts and cheap items, others will be more cautious of these”too good to be true” discounts and offers. The best way to save your money is to compare prices and quality of items at different online stores.

4. Always read product descriptions carefully

Not reading the product description before purchasing is a critical mistake. The problem with many online shoppers today is that they make the majority of their buying decisions based on the product image displayed. They do not take the time to browse the full product description. To avoid disappointment with your purchase, always check all of the information about an item before adding it to your cart. Don’t be fooled by photoshop-edited images that could distort the actual look of the product.

5. Warranty and Brand

The majority of the experts we consulted told us to constantly buy Rv Slide Out Awning, from a respectable brand. They also asked us to write in our buyer’s guide that purchasing Rv Slide Out Awning from unknown brands or by untrustworthy companies is almost never worth the savings.

After all, Rv Slide Out Awning from an unknown brand can be cheap but extremely low quality and difficult to repair.

Another benefit of buying Rv Slide Out Awning from a respectable brand is the warranty. Most Rv Slide Out Awning from reputable brands come with a good warranty. Cheap products come with a warranty too, but it can be very tricky to claim it. So buy models from respectable brands with a good warranty.

Our conclusion:

– So, the best Rv Slide Out Awning, in our view, is Solera Slide Topper Slide-Out Protection for RVs, Travel Trailers, 5th Wheels, and Motorhomes.

– Similar in features to the best, but probably a little more affordable, is Trim to Fit Slideout Cover Fabric to 140″ to 163″.

– The best concerning value for money, we choose RV Slide Out Awning Fabric White 3 Year Warranty Choose Size (82).
